Once in a while a great one slips through: she seems to have some out of nowhere and stormed right onto the scene, and bully for her...I really really love this stuff. I gonna gotta look harder at the stuff behind my eyelids; she's got me going now. Finally she has a website up; looked like she wavered into some critical-bullshit-topheavy stuff there for a bit, but she seems to have gotten back on track. Go to the 2002 and earlier work for magical stuff like this one: luscious lines, rich colors, really unusual use of space, tons of details that are just themselves yet also mismatched parts to an incomplete whole. Or something. I like work that's a little baffling without just being smug or obscurantist; I want to keep revisiting these pieces, which is really all you can ask for.
